Frequently asked questions

  • Each person's therapy experience is unique, and the process can vary based on individual needs. My goal is for you to leave our first session feeling heard, understood, and hopefully a bit more relieved and hopeful about the future. We'll begin by discussing your history, listening to your goals and stories, and exploring your current experiences. Together, we'll create a plan for our time together.

  • Therapy can help anyone experiencing emotional, mental, or behavioral challenges. If you feel overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, or are struggling with trauma, therapy can provide support and tools to help you navigate these difficulties.

  • I like to start by meeting weekly or bi-weekly as we begin our journey together. This helps us build momentum, get comfortable with each other, and set meaningful goals. Once things start to feel better, many people choose to reduce the frequency of their sessions. Everyone's therapy journey is unique—some might come for six months to address specific life challenges, while others continue for years, using therapy as a valuable practice for self-care, reflection, and transformation.

  • My current rate is $175 per session. I believe everyone should have access to the benefits of therapy. If my current rate doesn't align with your budget, I'm more than happy to assist you in finding suitable referrals. Additionally, I provide a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation for new clients. It's a chance for us to connect, see if we're a good match, and discuss any logistics or questions you may have.

  • To help address the systemic factors influencing mental health conditions, I set aside a limited number of sliding scale slots for clients facing financial constraints.

  • I am an out-of-network provider. I'm pleased to offer you a comprehensive Superbill for your sessions, enabling you to seek reimbursement from your insurance provider. Many clients with out-of-network benefits are eligible for partial reimbursement of counseling fees directly from their insurance companies. If applicable, clients pay my full rate upfront and then submit the Superbill to their insurance company for reimbursement.

  • Life happens, and everyone has to cancel and reschedule from time to time. I ask for as much advance notice as you can give. No shows and cancellations less than 24 hours in advance will be charged the full fee. Thank you for understanding that this is a necessary policy to successfully manage my practice.

  • Both! You get to choose what works best for you.

  • I offer consultation for therapists looking for support and to grow their skills in eating disorder and trauma therapy. Please contact me for more information. Rates for consultation match rates for individual therapy.
